BUCKHANNON — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a police officer.

The Buckhannon Police Department has an active warrant for the arrest of Blaine Browning.

“The individual should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see this individual immediately call 911,” a Tuesday afternoon press release stated.

The warrant for Browning was issued for strangulation as a result of his allegedly assaulting Buckhannon Police Department Officer Kraemer, the release stated. Kraemer was responding to a suspicious person call on the train tracks behind the Fred W. Eberle Technical Center when he encountered Browning.

During the altercation, Browning allegedly placed Kraemer in a chokehold.

Kraemer was treated and released from St. Joseph’s Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in this altercation, according to the press release.
