BUCKHANNON — The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur volunteered their time at the Upshur Cooperative Parish House, working in their Clothes Closet.

The Clothes Closet is a thrift store, which ias located at 47 Sedgwick Street and is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 m to 12:30 pm.

The Parish House has relied on volunteers, many of them West Virginia Wesleyan College students, to assist them in sorting and labeling the many donations they receive. Without the college students and other volunteers, the Parish House has found it difficult to sort donations and ready the Clothes Closet for the fall.

“We receive many donations from the community for distribution in our Clothes Closet,” said Kristi L. Wilkerson, director of the Parish House. “We appreciate the Rotarians volunteering to help us since we are at a shortage of helping hands this year.”

“We as a club have chosen to dedicate the fifth Tuesday of each month to a service project,” said Club President Julie Keehner. “Projects where we can donate of our time to a worthy cause truly demonstrate our theme for the year of ‘Positive Visibility’ and our motto of ‘Service Above Self.'”
