Christmas Bazaar to offer gift ideas
ELKINS — The seventh annual Elkins Community Christmas Bazaar will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Phil Gainer Community Center.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. and the event will conclude at 3 p.m. Admission to the Bazaar is free, but those attending are asked to make a donation to this year’s Randolph County Toys for Tots campaign.
Patrons are encouraged to make a monetary donation or to bring a new and unused toy to contribute to Toys for Tots, which annually distributes toys to more than 200 families in Randolph County.
“We have a great turnout for the Bazaar every year, which is a big reason we retain so many of our vendors each year,” Phil Gainer Community Center Director Chris Lee said. “It’s really a great opportunity for folks to come out and peruse through a large variety of creative gift ideas that are created by local artists and crafters.”
Lee said more than 30 vendors will be spread across 9,000 square feet of shopping space this year. Many different items will be for sale at the event, including wood crafts, primitive items, hand-crafted jewelry, local maple syrup, candies, candles, products made from alpaca wool, and more.
Bakers will be in attendance and selling some of their delicious homemade and pre-packaged goods.
“Those attending can shop for many things in one place, while supporting local crafters and small businesses,” Lee said. “And one of the highlights of the bazaar is an opportunity to meet some furry new friends from the Randolph County Humane Society, who will be onsite with pets available for adoption and selling merchandise.”
The highlight for children attending the bazaar will be a visit from Santa Claus, who will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Concessions will also be available, with all proceeds benefiting the Toys for Tots program.
