Elkins lifts water conservation order
ELKINS – The City of Elkins has lifted the water conservation order that was issued Sunday.
Just before 9 a.m. Monday, the city issued the following press release:
“The water conservation order has been lifted after we were able to refill to half reservoir capacity overnight.
“Although we projected running dry by about 9 p.m. last night, we still had more than two feet in the reservoir tank at that time. Although this was a very low level (a full tank is around 30 feet), it indicates many Elkins water customers took the conservation order seriously and made conscious efforts to reduce their water usage. Thank you for the community effort!”
