Power outage reported at three Randolph schools

ELKINS — A power outage at three Randolph County schools was reported Thursday afternoon.

At about 2 p.m., Dr. Shawn Dilly, the superintendent of Randolph County Schools, posted the following on social media:

“Dear Parents and Guardians,

“Elkins High School, Midland Elementary, and Beverly Elementary are experiencing a power outage. The power company has assured us that service will be restored within the hour.

“During this time, emergency lighting is in operation, and all necessary measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and comfort of students and staff. Instruction is proceeding as scheduled, and students will be dismissed at the regular time.”
