Benefit show to feature Elvis, Sinatra tribute
ELKINS — The GFWC Woman’s Club of Elkins is hosting a Dinner & Show featuring “Swinging with Elvis & Sinatra” on March 15 in Magnolia Hall at Scott Hill.
The event, which will begin at 6 p.m., will feature a buffet dinner, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and cash bar. All proceeds will go toward funding the GFWC State President’s Special Project for 2025.
“This is a new event for the Woman’s Club, who is wanting to raise funds for our state director’s current project,” said GFWC Woman’s Club of Elkins President Lisa Wood.
“The project is called HOME and it’s an initiative to promote both care for elderly, particularly those in at-home care or in facilities, and also supporting those who work with them. The flip side of the program is to support kids who are in foster care and kinship care and those assisting them.”
The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber is helping promote the event for the GFWC Woman’s Club of Elkins, who recently joined the organization.
“With the Chamber’s new partner program, when organizations or businesses become a Chamber member, the Chamber helps promote all their events,” said Wood. “This is an example of a small organization being a community partner and the Chamber doing their part to help them with their fundraising efforts.”
The dinner will be catered by the GFWC Woman’s Club of Elkins and Davis & Elkins College. Lee Dean, a talented actor, impressionist, and musical tribute artist, will perform as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
“Lee Dean works for the Secretary of State’s Office and his passion is doing impersonations of Sinatra and Elvis,” said Wood. “He will do a whole show and we will have an intermission half way through when he will switch characters. He does multiple shows every weekend and he is very popular around the state. It should be a really fun evening for everyone.”
