Grand opening for new cabin resort is Friday
DAVIS — The grand opening for Canaan Valley’s new Valley View Cabin Resort will be Friday, featuring food, live music, tours and more.
The opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for Valley View will be held at 11 a.m. on May 30 at 108 Idleman Run Road in Davis. Described as a “a new modern-luxury destination in the heart of Canaan Valley,” the resort is located across from several thousand acres of protected wetland.
“Located in the high mountains of Tucker County, Valley View offers a premier cabin experience surrounded by the natural beauty of Canaan Valley,” A grand opening invitation states. “Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration as Valley View Cabin Resort officially launches — a bold step in the revitalization of Canaan Valley.”
Guests at the ceremony can enjoy food, drinks, live music and tours of the resort’s one-bedroom and two-bedroom cabins. West Virginia State Treasurer Larry Pack is scheduled as a guest speaker for the event with dignitaries from several counties joining in the event.
“It’s a $20 million dollar investment in Canaan Valley, the cabins alone,” Head of Valley View Media Relations Scott Gillespie told The Inter-Mountain. “When they’re completed, there will be 30 of them. Right now there’s about half as many.”
Gillespie explained that the resort has been a project and vision of Managing Partner Chris Waters for five or more years.
“It’s been five or six, maybe more, years in the making,” Gillespie said. “It’s hard to pull off these things, but… Friday they’ll cut the ribbon.”
