Randolph man charged with burglary

BEVERLY — A Randolph County man is facing a felony charge after allegedly breaking into a woman’s house and assaulting her with a can of soda in June.
Nathaniel James Wilson, 31, of Beverly has been charged with burglary, a felony. He is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond set by Randolph County Magistrate Court Judge Benjamin Shepler.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Senior Trooper C.A. Hawkins with the Elkins Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, on June 7, Hawkins was dispatched to an “assault no longer in progress” on Dodson Run Road in Beverly.
Upon arrival, Hawkins made contact with the alleged victim, who stated that Wilson had “kicked in her front door” and began “hitting her in the head” with a can of Mountain Dew Code Red, the complaint states.
Hawkins writes that he observed damage to the alleged victim’s front door “consistent with being forced open.” Hawkins also observed a “fluid spray of a liquid consistent with the described ‘Code Red Mtn Dew'” on the floor of the alleged victim’s living room, as well as a “busted and empty can” of Mountain Dew Code Red.
