William E. Petrice Jr.


William E. “Bill” Petrice Jr., 71, a resident of Pumpkintown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1947, at Buckhannon, a son of Lucia “Lucy” Rossi Petrice of Coalton and the late William E. “Bill” Petrice Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Ty Petrice and wife, Dawna, of Morgantown, Toby Petrice and wife, Lauret, of Michigan; and one daughter, Jessica Alsop and husband, Rob, of Morgantown; two brothers, Charles Thomas “Tom” Petrice and wife, Sandra, of Pumpkintown and Vincent A. Petrice and wife, Nicole, of Elkins; one sister, Christina K. Tenney of Pumpkintown; and seven grandchildren, Seth, Andres, Adriana, Eli, Audrey, Elizabeth and Jenna.

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Brianna.

Bill was a graduate of Coalton Twelve-Year School and was owner and operator of Petrice Logging and Chapel Lumber Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on equipment and riding horses. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mr. Raymond Godwin. On Saturday morning, Bill will be moved to St. Patrick Catholic Church at Coalton where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Father James E. O’Connor and the Rev. Mr. Raymond Godwin will be the celebrants. Interment will follow in the St. Vincent Cemetery at Coalton.
