Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Ellen Hardy


Dorothy “Dottie” Ellen Hardy, 73, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, Oct.7, 2019, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.

Dottie was born Monday, Dec. 24, 1945. in Parsons, a daughter of the late Doyle Clarence Hardy and Wanda Louise Parsons.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, James D. Poyner, Joey D. Poyner and Bobby J. Poyner; three grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Dallas L., Austin D. and Clara Grace Ann Poyner; one brother, James W. Hardy and wife, Mary; nieces and nephews, Renee Hardy, Travis Flanagan, Stephanie Flanagan-Hood, Rudy Flanagan and Chris Flanagan.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was one sister, Martha Hardy Flanagan.

Dottie was a 1963 graduate of Parsons High School. As a young girl, Dottie worked at Barb’s Drug Store in Parsons. Later she had become a respiratory therapist at Davis Medical Center. She was also a bar manager at H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion, and had owned a small business by the name of B&J Costume Shop.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, from noon until 3 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Nathan Bennett will officiate and entombment will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery in Mt. Clare at a later date.

The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Dorothy Ellen Hardy.
