Carolyn J. Thompson


Carolyn J. Thompson, 83, a resident of the Elkins Manor, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at her home.

She was born Aug. 3, 1936, at Glady, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Straudy White Ketterman.

She is survived by one son, Clifford J. Summerfield; one brother, Frank “Preach” Ketterman Jr. and wife, Sandy, of Elkins; and three sisters, Charlene Evans and husband, Larry, of Glenmore, Mildred Weese of Bridgeport, Ohio, and Barbara Bledsoe and husband, Keith, of Ona. A special friend, Kaitlyn Preston and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Also preceding her in death was one sister, Sharon Huffman; and brother-in-law, Bob Weese.

Carolyn had worked at Hardees for many years as a night manager and later volunteered at the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center Gift Shop. She loved flowers, especially planting them around the fish pond at the Elkins Manor. She attended the Full Gospel Fellowship Church at Glenmore.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jerry Helmick officiating. Interment will follow in the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale.
