Jeffrey A. Cosner

Jeffrey Aaron Cosner, 59, passed from this life on Jan. 11, 2020, at his home in Ruffin, North Carolina, surrounded by his family and beloved pets, and under the care of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell.

Jeff was born April 25, 1960, in Elkins, a son of Harold Lee “Bud” Cosner, who resides in Elkins, and the late Marva Lynn Grose Cosner

He is survived by one sister Lori Lynn Cosner (Ray) of Mebane, North Carolina, and her children Kori Alexis Fansler and Kyle Brannon Sole; niece Leanna Brooks Cosner and one great-nephew David McCauley of Elkins.

He was proceeded in death by one brother, David Lee Cosner, USMC 1983.

Jeffrey graduated from Elkins High School in 1979 and was a self-taught small engine mechanic. He graciously moved to North Carolina three years ago to help his sister plan and build the L. Cpl David L. Cosner, USMC Outdoor Recreation Reserve. He enjoyed meticulously grooming the landscape and repairing machinery on the “Cosner Reserve” in Pelham, North Carolina. He was happiest when he planted fields of sunflowers, beautifying the landscape and fishing in the lake.

Jeffrey’s wish was to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in the flower fields at the Cosner Reserve in Pelham, North Carolina. This will take place in the spring.

The Omega Funeral Home and Crematory of Burlington, North Carolina have been entrusted with the arrangements for Jeffrey Aaron Cosner.
