Dana E. ‘Danny’ Kirkpatrick

Dana Edward “Danny” Kirkpatrick, 70, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Monday evening, April 20, 2020, at his home with his loving wife by his side, and under the care of WV Caring. He had been in declining health since December of 2019.

He was born Sunday, March 26, 1950, at Elkins, a son of the late Oney and Betty Ailstock Phillips.

On June 22, 1974, at First Baptist Church in Elkins, he was married to the former Rebecca “Becky” Wamsley, who survives.

Also surviving are one cousin, Shirley Bee and husband Gene of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are two sisters, Sue Brandt and Debbie White; and two brothers, Jimmy Kirkpatrick and Mark Phillips.

He attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Desert Storm, retiring during 1991. He worked for the Randolph County Board of Education as a custodian supervisor, retiring during 2005. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Elkins. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, loved weed eating, although his dedication and passion was the military.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 23, at 11:30 a.m. at the Elkins Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Linda Roberts will officiate and interment will follow.
