Tammy A. Blackburn Schmuff
Tammy Antoinette Blackburn Schmuff, 56, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, May 15, 2020, at Davis Medical Center.
Tammy was born Thursday, June 6, 1963, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Clifford O. Blackburn Sr. and Marilyn Wolf, who survives in Virginia.
She was thrice married. First, she was married to Danny J. Sponaugle, who preceded her in death. Second, she married Walter R. Baublitz, who survives. On May 26, 2007, she married William John “Bill” Schmuff, who survives.
Also left to cherish Tammy’s memory are four sons, David J. Sponaugle Sr., Greg O. Sponaugle, Matthew D. Baublitz, and Mark A. Baublitz, one stepson, Kyle A. Stump, one brother, Vincent Church, one sister, Helen Hartlove, six grandchildren, David J. Sponaugle Jr., Tyler A. Sponaugle, Lillian R. Baublitz, Ella N. Baublitz, Matthew D. Baublitz Jr., and Kalyb O. Sponaugle, her mother-in-law, Katherine Zissimos, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides Tammy’s father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford O. Sponaugle Jr., and Michael Wickline, and her father-in-law, William J. Schmuff Jr.
Tammy attended the schools of Randolph County. She loved spending time with her family and having her grandchildren around her.
A quite simple woman who was content in life, she enjoyed classic country music and Elvis.
A visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Saturday, May 23, from 11 a.m. until noon. Due to COVID-19, CDC guidelines will be followed by maintaining social distancing and limiting the number of people in the facility at one time. Following the visitation, there will be a Celebration of Tammy’s Life held at 2 p.m. at Sierra’s house.
