Peter James Joseph Jr.

Peter James Joseph Jr., 79, formerly from Harleysville, Pennsylvania, left his home and family to be with the love of his life in Heaven, Linda Lee Joseph, on Friday, May 8, 2020. He died peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his four daughters.

Born March 16, 1941, in Elkins, he was the son to the late Peter and Ilah (Flannagan) Joseph Sr.

Peter held a Bachelor of Science mechanical engineering degree from West Virginia University. He started his professional career at Bethlehem Steel and went on to work at Merck & Co. He and Linda moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina to fulfill their dream of living on a golf course. Linda passed away in 2010 after a long battle with cancer and 46 years of marriage to Peter.

Peter lived a full and active life. He was passionate about playing golf, bridge, sports and all Mountaineer teams. Peter was the president of his ski club, taking hundreds of people, including his entire family on beautiful ski vacations out West every year. He always had a smile and kind word for anyone he came across. He loved to joke around and would break into a dance when one of his favorite bands came on the radio.

Peter was a loving father and grandfather who will be sorely missed.

Surviving are his four daughters Janine Jones, Bethanny and Chris Crouse of Gilbert, Arizona, Jennifer Joseph, Susanne and Marc Elliott of Souderton, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Kayla and Colby Elliott, Lilah and Waylan Crouse and Andrew Jones; two brothers and two sisters, Victor and Michael Joseph of Winfiled, Maria Joseph of Elkins and Terri and Joe Stalnaker of Stuart, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his brother David Joseph of Morgantown.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, on July 24 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial contributions be made to an organization near and dear to his heart “Dog Town Rescue” 252 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, PA 18915.

A celebration of life will follow after the services at the Elliott home located at 535 Delp Road Souderton, Pa. The following day we will continue celebrating where all are invited to the Joseph home located at 180 Green Hill Road Telford, PA for a brunch and pool party at 11 a.m.
