Christopher Paul Peterson


Christopher Paul Peterson, 55, of Elkins, passed away, Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at his home.

Born Thursday, Sept. 30, 1965, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he was the son of Anna Marie (Yuknavich) Allen of Millville, Delaware, and the late Jonathan Ralph Peterson.

He was most recently employed with Putting on the Ritz Catering in Jessup, Maryland, and also Scotties in Elkins. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and a founding member of the AARP Poker Club, and he volunteered with the Winter Relief Shelter. Chris was a loving devoted husband, father, brother, son and a loving, caring, playful Pop-Pop. He enjoyed the Baltimore Ravens football, star gazing and weather watching.

He is survived by his wife Debra Dyann Peterson; daughters, Amanda Varron and husband Kenneth of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Samantha N. Louderback and husband Stephen of Pasadena, Maryland; four sons, Andrew R. Peterson of Elkins, Christian Harper and wife Jennifer of Taneytown, Maryland, Ryan A. Peterson and wife Sheyanne of Live Oak, Florida, and Tyler C. Carey of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, Jonathan D. Peterson of Bowie, Maryland, and Daniel Peterson of Marshall, Michigan; sister, Linda M. Birner of Annapolis, Maryland, and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. James E. Moore officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Maryland.
