Vivian Ruth Hensil Hogan
Vivian Ruth Hensil Hogan, 89, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Vivian was born Monday, May 18, 1931, in Elkins, a daughter of the late William Fredrick Hensil and Madeline Katherine Moore Hensil.
On May 19, 1951, in Elkins, she married Troy Edison Hogan, who survives.
Also left to cherish her memory are three sons, Dr. Dan Hogan and wife Nelda of Bluffton, South Carolina, Mark Hogan and wife Rita of Mason, and David Hogan and wife Janet of Middletown, Ohio, grandchildren, Johnathan Hogan and wife Brittany of Fairhope, Alabama, Andrew Hogan and wife Hollie of Lexington, South Carolina, Madeline Hogan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, great-grandchildren, London, Hunter, and Ethan Hogan, siblings, Sue Pyles of Gastonia, North Carolina, Fay Thompson of Elkins, Dianna Jordan of Rochester, Pennsylvania, and Helen Tanner of Elkins.
Preceding Vivian in death besides her parents were two siblings, Jule Hensil and Alice Smith.
Vivian was a graduate of Elkins High School and then was employed at Dutch Oven Bakery where she met Troy. Following their marriage, Vivian was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to cook and keep a tidy household. Her biggest joys in life were her family and church. Vivian had attended Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, Elkins First Church of the Nazarene, and Landmark Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Wednesday, Oct. 21, from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Dr. Dan Hogan will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
