Arvella Marie Turner

Arvella Marie Turner, 82, of Onego, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on May 16, 1938, in Onego, the daughter of the late John Alonzo Vance and Elsie Mallow. Arvella was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William J. Tuner, on Jan. 24, 2015.

Mrs. Turner graduated from Circleville High School in 1956. She attended the Bible Missionary Church in Onego. Arvella was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Turner is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Cooper and husband, Andy, of Onego; one son, William Craig Turner and wife, Adra, of Onego; two sisters, Faye Chewning of Petersburg and Violet Kimble of Upper Tract; one brother, Kenneth Vance and wife, Bernice, of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren, Shawn Turner, William Turner, Cotdy Evans, Wyatt Evans and Jarrett Evans; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Vance and Eldon Vance; one sister, Opal Berg; one grandson, Heath Turner; and one infant great-grandson, Zain.

Mrs. Turner’s family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Ewald officiating. Per her request Mrs. Turner’s body will be cremated and inurnment will be at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Brushy Run.
