Doris Jean Corcoran Williams


Doris Jean Corcoran Williams passed away at the age of 82 years at her home in Elkins on Feb. 21, 2021. She had been in declining health.

She was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Elkins, and was the only daughter of the late Dale and Teresa Corcoran.

On Aug. 16, 1958, she married Mike Williams. Doris and Mike had celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Doris graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1956. She was a member of the Elkins Church of The Nazarene serving in many capacities. She loved the Lord and showed many people unconditional love entertaining family and friends. She was a hard worker having first worked at Phil’s Restaurant and for many years at Reidbord Brothers Sewing Factory.

She also was employed at Best Western, Betterway Cleaners, Belington Bank, the Seneca Mall and was employed by the City of Elkins at the time of her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; much loved brother, Ray Corcoran and wife, Becky, who have been a tremendous help in her time of need; sister-in-law, Delores Corcoran Flint; longtime friend, Rosemary Salcedo; and brother-in-law, Jeff Williams, (Nancy); nieces and nephews, Peggy (Steve), Matt (Tina), John (Tammy), Ron Corcoran, Teresa (Richard), Jackie (Ben), Jonathan (Sam), Blake (Amy), Adam (Michelle); and numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were brothers, James Corcoran and Jack (Patty) Corcoran and Kirk Helmick, who was like a son to her.

She will be missed by all of her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery. Pastor Terry Burgess will officiate and interment will follow.

Masks and social distancing is recommended at the gravesite.
