Jeffrey Van Zickefoose

Jeffrey Van Zickefoose, 62, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1958, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Orval Pete and Mary Cutright Zickefoose. In May of 1984, he married Lynelle Marie Lewis, who survives of Buckhannon.

Also surviving are, two daughters, Emily McCord and husband, Tyson, of Chantilly, Virginia, and April Fitzgerald and husband, Brent, of Verona, Virginia; two grandsons, Seton and Beckett McCord, both of Chantilly; one granddaughter, Evry McCord of Chantilly; one sister, Barbara Zickefoose and partner, David Bunner, of Buckhannon; his parents-in-law, Wayne and Minetta Lewis of Lost Creek, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Derrell “Tom” Zickefoose; one infant brother, Donald Zickefoose; and one infant sister, Beverly Zickefoose.

Mr. Zickefoose was a member of the Tennerton United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. He served as a United Methodist minister for over 20 years. Prior to his work in ministry, his love of music led him to a career in broadcasting.

He also enjoyed studying American History and attending civil war reenactments. Mr. Zickefoose loved sports, was a founding member of the Christian Golfers Association and coached soccer, basketball and football for both Lewis and Upshur County schools.

Friends will be received Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Clifford Schell and Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens, West Virginia.
