Robert Lee Phillips

Mr. Robert Lee Phillips, 82, a resident of Belington, departed this life Monday morning July 19, 2021, at his home.

He was born Oct. 3, 1938, at Belington, a son of the late Willie Gay and Eva Bertice Day Phillips.

On Jan. 17, 1962, at Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Madelyn D. Phillips, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Debra Dunfee and husband, Tim, of Belington, Brenda Taqi and husband, Faiz, of San Antonio, Texas, and Rebecca Miller and husband, Brian, of Morgantown.

Also surviving are two granddaughters, Ashley and Amber; four grandsons, Shawn, Ben, Camran and Zain; one great-granddaughter, Destinee; two great-grandsons, Brentlee and Mathias; one special niece, Erin Browning and husband, Ryan, of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Sue Phillips; two sisters, Arleene Bonnell and Lorraine Roethlisberger; and three brothers, Arlton Phillips, Clarence Phillips and Linwood Phillips.

Mr. Phillips attended the schools of Barbour County and graduated from the Belington High School with the class of 1956. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America. Mostly being employed with Carl E. Smith Pipeline Construction, from which he retired. He was a Baptist and loved gardening, hunting and anything outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg St. in Belington on Friday July 23, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, where final rites will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor David Brady officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
