Terry L. ‘Ted’ Helmick

HELMICK

Terry L. “Ted” Helmick, 66, of Davis, West Virginia, passed away at home after a short illness on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Born on Sept. 24, 1954, in Elkins, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Glen and Norma (Eichelberger) Helmick.

“Ted” was a UMWA coal miner, a member of the F.O.E. No. 936, a former member of the Davis Town Council, and a past member of the TVFD.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sherri (Whitehair) Helmick; a son, Adam Helmick and wife, Megan, of Davis; his pride and joy, a grandson, Owen Helmick, who he affectionately called “Big Dog;” three brothers, Glen Helmick and wife, Harriet, of Thomas, Dan Helmick of Thomas and Jeff “Hoot” Helmick and wife, Rhonda, of Parsons; his mother-in-law, Connie Whitehair, who he loved dearly; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Helmick; and a sister, Sandra Y. Musacchio.

Mr. Helmick’s request for cremation will be honored. There will be a family graveside service at a later date.
