Mable Grace Pinkerton Pingley


Mable Grace Pinkerton Pingley, 98, a resident of Beverly, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. She had been in declining health.

She was born Thursday, May 3, 1923, at Kismet, Kansas, a daughter of the late Harry T. and Leora Main Morris Pinkerton.

On December 29, 1947, she was married to Joseph E. Pingley, who preceded her in death May 4, 1998.

Surviving are five sons, Norman Jackson Pingley and wife, Gretchen, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Lawrence Clinton Pingley and wife, Sally, of Farmdale, Ohio, James Edward Pingley of Port Orange, Florida, Michael Wayne Pingley and wife, Dorothy, of Berkley Springs and John Thomas Pingley and wife, Carolyn, of Beverly; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Pinkerton of Pueblo, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are one son, Richard Kent Pingley; one brother, Bill Pinkerton; and two sisters, Eileen Stewart and Patricia Ann Wymer.

Mable was a graduate of Deerfield High School at Deerfield, Kansas, and was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church at Beverly, West Virginia. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road, Elkins, West Virginia. The Rev. Jack Howell will officiate and interment will follow.
