Rose Marie Tinney

TINNEY

Rose Marie Tinney, 70, of Maysville, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1951, in Marlinton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Homer Medley and Marie (Shue) Stanley.

On June 13, 1970, Rose married Homer Allen Tinney Sr., who survives in Maysville.

Mrs. Tinney was a 1970 graduate of Hillsboro High School and was a member of the Potomac Valley Baptist Church, where she was a Junior Class Sunday School Teacher. She was a first shift cook at Grant County Nursing Home and a homemaker and loving mother. Rose enjoyed painting, photography, gardening and flowers.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tinney is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Kimble (Bill) of Moorefield, West Virinia; a son, Homer Tinney, Jr. (Crystal) of Maysville, West Virginia; two sisters, Brenda Nauman of Flat Rock, North Carolina, and Emma Hamrick of Renick, West Virginia; two brothers, Ben Shue of Hiillsboro, West Virginia, and James Shue (Mary) of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Kayisha Vanmeter (Danny), Keliegh Lewis (Travis), Kadin Tinney, Drake Kimble and Grace Kimble; two great-grandchildren, Maverick Vanmeter and Kannon Lewis; and a favorite nephew, Pete Tinney (Maria) of Woodlands, Texas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Wesley Shue; and a sister, Elaine Tinney.

Mrs. Tinney’s family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, 6-8 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Potomac Valley Baptist Church, Maysville, West Virginia, with Pastor Ted Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Maysville Cemetery in Maysville.
