St. Loria Alice Harper Mallow

MALLOW

St. Loria Alice Harper Mallow, 87, a resident of the Becky’s Creek Community, Huttonsville, West Virginia, departed this life Monday evening, Sept. 13, 2021, at her home with her loving family at her side. She had been in declining health for the past several years.

She was born Saturday, Jan. 20, 1934, at Bowden, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William Haymond Champ and Pearlie Anna Coberly Champ.

On Dec. 26, 1952, at Elkins, West Virginia, she was married to Thomas Charles Mallow, who preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1996.

Surviving are three sons, Stephen Edward Mallow and wife, Sharon, William Charles “Bill” Mallow and wife, Debbie, and Thomas Junior Mallow and wife, Beverly, all of Huttonsville; two daughters, Joyce Lynnette Collett and husband, John, and Robin Elaine Mathes and husband, Gary, all of Huttonsville; 14 grandchildren, David Tingler and wife, Kyndra, Derek Wickline and wife, Melinda, Katrina Davis and husband, James, Sandra Wyler and husband, Paul, William Mallow Jr. and wife, Garilee, Brittany Feldes and husband, John, Aaron Mallow, Lewis Mathes and wife, Amanda, Savannah Mathes and companion, Jason, Charles “Chucky” Mallow, Kenneth Mallow, Tina Conklin and husband, Rick, Chris Louk and Matthew Mallow and companion, Loretta; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two half-sisters, Ruth Ann and Martha Gertrude Champ.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1951. She had previously worked at Reidboard and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and puzzle books and loved reading. She had an incredible memory and never forgot special dates, such as her family’s birthdates and anniversaries. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Jubilee Outreach Ministries at Mill Creek.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 11 a.m.

Pastor Harold Swecker will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, West Virginia.
