Timothy ‘Timmy’ Allan Slayton


Timothy “Timmy” Allan Slayton, 41, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, Nov, 19, 2021, at home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Timmy was born Thursday, Jan.10, 1980, a son of Sheila K. Blake Slayton and Timothy G. Slayton.

Also left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Summer L. Slayton and boyfriend, Gavin Pingley; fiance of 24 years, Pamela Zirkle; and their beloved dog, Joni; one sister, Amelia F. Miller-Cupp and husband, Harry H. Cupp IV, and their children, Luke Miller and Alexander, Lydia and Austin Cupp; niece/sister, Shasta N. Slayton and her partner, Myles Freeman; and close friends that he considered family, Doug and Paula Zirkle of Mabie, Bernie and Crystal Pike, their children, Lily and Jackson, and Jerry Helmick.

Preceding him in death was one sister, Sherri Lynn Miller McCauley; maternal grandmother, Opal Faye Blake Shomo; paternal grandparents, Richard and Jean Slayton; and lifelong friend, Teddy Morris.

Timmy was a joy to be around. He had an awesome sense of humor and was well-known for a practical joke every once in a while. He loved his family and closest friends. Timmy was a creative person who loved to draw, paint, and make things. He also was self-taught on the guitar and drums. Music was a big part of his life. Lyrics to songs helped him along the way. He enjoyed fishing and had shown an interest in photography in the recent past.

As a child, he attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Junior and those memories stuck with him throughout his life.

Services are private. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Timmy’s name to the charity of your choice.
