Robert L. ‘Bob’ Reckart

He was born Jan. 27, 1941, at Turner Douglas, West Virginia, a son of the late Fuller and Mearl Summers Reckart.

On July 27, 1960, at Oakland, Maryland, he was married to Linda L. Jordan, who survives.

Also surviving is one son, Robert L. “Robbie” Reckart Jr. and wife, Gina, of Beverly; and one daughter, Annette Reckart Lowder of Sanford, North Carolina; two brothers, Darrell Reckart and wife, Sharron, and Delmas Dale Reckart and wife, Donna, all of Elkins; five sisters, Alberta Jean Sonnemann of Sykesville, Maryland, Florence Friend of Thomas, West Virginia, Gloria Foy of Chester, Virginia, JoAnne Reckart of Elkins and Nancy Bennett and husband, Rick, of Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Sonny Reckart Schuler and husband, Houston, of Elkins, and Dylan Reckart of Beverly; and soon to be arriving is his great-granddaughter, Birdy Faye Schuler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Willard “Bud” Reckart; and five sisters, Virginia Roy, Hazel Noyes, Opal Roy, Edna Shaffer and Kayron Reckart.

He was a graduate of Terra Alta High School and had retired from Reckart Equipment Company. Bob loved photography, collecting coins and woodworking. He was a hard worker all his life and dearly loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a member of Orlena United Methodist Church.

Bob’s request for cremation has been honored.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
