Mrs. Carolyn Sue Fitzwater Wolfe, 81, a resident Belington, West Virginia, departed this life Saturday morning, Oct. 7, 2023, in the Mountain Living Community Assisted Living Facility at Belington. Death was following a period of declining health.

Sue was born Nov. 5, 1941, at Belington, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William Levi “Bill” and Lula Pearl Kittle Fitzwater.

On Oct. 17, 1986, at Belington, West Virginia, she was united in marriage to Dorsey Glenn Wolfe, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children from her former marriage to Donald D. Darnell; son, David Darnell and wife, Amy, of Morgantown, West Virginia; three daughters, Tammy Tucker and husband, Greg, of Belington, Beverly Posey and husband, Vince, of Elkins, and Donna McDaniel and husband, Danny, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

Stepchildren surviving are, Jerry Wolfe and wife, Eva, of Canton, Ohio, Scott Wolfe and fiance, Lisa, of Kingwood, Nicholas Wolfe and wife, Shawn, of Nestorville, West Virginia, and Derrick Wolfe and wife, Nikki, of Philippi, West Virginia; and one sister, Mary E. Carper and husband, Gary, of Belington.

Additional survivors include a sister-in-law Carla Fitzwater of Belington; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins and a whole host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, David E. Fitzwater; and another brother, John E. Fitzwater.

Sue was a 1959 graduate of the Belington High School and later in life attended Fairmont State College and Marshall University, majoring in Psychology and Theology. She loved Pastoring and praying for folks and strived to be a comfort to those in need. Sue was an avid reader and a devout Christian. She attended the Sugar Creek Church and the Bethel United Methodist Church. She had been a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Heart and Hand ministries, and was formerly employed by the Belington Public Library.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 North Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday. Oct. 12, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Debarr officiating.

Interment will then follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church 13819 Audra Park Road, Volga, WV. 26238.
