Betty Louise Phillips Nestor

Betty Louise Phillips Nestor, 93, a resident of Hendricks, West Virginia, departed this life late Sunday evening, May 18, 2025, at Cortland Acres at Thomas, West Virginia.

She was born Sunday, July 5, 1931, at Hendricks, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Russell Clifford Phillips and Peachie Wilfong Phillips Carwell.

She was married to Clifford Nestor, who preceded her in death June 16, 2004.

Surviving are three sons, Larry Wade Nestor and wife, Connie, of Hendricks, Gary Wayne Nestor and wife, Janet, of Parsons, and Jerry Clifford Nestor of Hendricks and companion, Stephanie Moats; one daughter, Janet Elsanabary and Hussameldin of Hendricks; 12 grandchildren, Joey Mann, Pam Nestor, Crystal Pike, Justin Nestor, Eric Nestor, Shylnn Nestor, Dana Corcoran, Teresa Hebb, Crystal Nelson, Kimbrly McPherson, Christian Moore and Shawn Hunt; several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Phillips; and two sisters, Joann Young and Carol Lewis; one son-in-law, Lee Mann; and one great-grandson, Mark.

She attended the schools of Tucker County and was a nurse’s aide at the former Tucker County Hospital. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Society. She was also a member of the Parsons Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Aux., the Red Hat Society, the Ladies Society in Hendricks and the Ruritan Club. She enjoyed bowling and shopping and every morning, she read her scripture. She was described as a sweet and sassy lady by her friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, West Virginia, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Julie Davis will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia.

The family would like to extend a Thank You to the Cortland Acres Staff, especially Casey and Carolyn, and also special thanks to granddaughter, Christian Moore, who was always being there for her.
