LANTERN TOURS: Tales of the spooky and mysterious — come join the ever-popular Lantern Tours today, Saturday, Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 at the Beverly Heritage Center. AUTUMN ON THE DRY FORK: Drive-thru event will be Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. until all meals are sold. The event will be behind the Old Mill, just off Route 32, on the Dry Fork Recreation Center site in Harman. Pig roast and chicken BBQ dinners will include beans, coleslaw, roll and bottled water. Homemade apple butter and apple cider will also be available. Due to COVID-19 you are asked to stay in your car. Meals will be pick-up only. There will be a virtual Facebook auction, but no entertainment, vendors or extra activities this year.

BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-lane on Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, coffee, milk or orange juice. Take-out orders will be available.

SERVICE CANCELED: The Elkins Church of the Brethren at 708 West Central Street, will not host a worship service on Sunday. Services will resume on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m.

JOY IN THE CITY: Elkins Community Christian Churches will host Joy in the City from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Elkins Town Square. There will be music, praise, worship and prayer. Everyone is welcome and should be bring lawn chairs.

CEMETERY MEETING: Greenwood Cemetery meeting will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Presbyterian Church in East Dailey. All relatives of those interred in the cemetery are asked to attend.

TYGART VALLEY HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION: will meet 6 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. All are invited and community residents are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Tom Rennix, president, at 304-940-1855.

ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will hold its regular meeting Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in the library at the IOOF Building located on the Beverly Five-lane. WOMEN’S CONFERENCE: Jubilee Outreach Ministries will host their Fall Women’s Conference on Friday, Oct.15, at Jubilee Outreach Ministries in Mill Creek. Conference speaker will be Pastor Rena Perozich. She will be ministering on Climb That Mountain. Refreshments at 6 p.m. and services at 7 p.m. All ladies are invited to attend. SPECIAL SERVICE: at Good Shepherd Assembly of God 312 Wilson St. Elkins on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Good Shepherd Drama team will be ministering and students will be singing. Haley Cunningham (Good Shepherd Christian Academy student) will be sharing her journey of faith as she was diagnosed in January with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer at the age of 13.

HEALTH SCREENING: The Elkins Kiwanis is sponsoring their Health Awareness Screening on Oct.16 and Oct. 23 at the Randolph County Senior Center from 7- 10 a.m. For more information please call 1-800-524-3414.

FALL FESTIVAL: The 25th year for the Fall Festival of the Tennerton United Methodist Church in Buckhannon will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out for homemade apple butter, baked goods, hot dogs, and trash’n treasures. Masks be worn when inside the building. The proceeds will benefit church projects.

MEAT SHOOT: FW Post 5781 will host a meat shoot 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. The next shoot is scheduled for Nov. 20. For information contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.

HALLOWEEN PARADE: Tygarts Valley fairs and festivals will be hosting a Halloween Parade on Oct. 16. Lineup for the parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. at George Ward Elementary School. HEALTH FAIR: Valley Health Care will be hosting a Health Fair at the Beverly Fire Hall on Oct. 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Regular and high dose flu vaccines will be available at the event. VHC will also be doing basic lab screenings at the fair. Fasting is required for some of the screenings. No appointment is necessary and for more information call 304-636-0133.

HALLOWEEN HUSTLE: Beverly Elementary School will host the Halloween Hustle 5K Oct. 22 at the Elkins Town Square. Register online at www.raceentry.com/races/halloween-hustle/2021/register. Register by October 15 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.

EHS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: will be holding 5K Run/Walk and a 1 Mile Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 23. The 5K will begin at 3 p.m. The 1 Mile Kids’ Fun Run will begin at 2 p.m. Registration for both events will start at 1 p.m. and is $20 per person for the 5K and $5 per child for the fun run. Every pre-registered 5k participant will receive a free T-shirt. RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL: will hold its October meeting on Friday, Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Beverly United Methodist Church. Dinner is $12. Reservations are required. Call 304-636-7649 no later than Oct. 19 for reservations and/or information.

HELPING HAND CLEARINGHOUSE: is collecting names of needy children for the FOP Christmas Party, Randolph County only. Children 12 and under. Must provide proof of income. The deadline is Nov. 10. The hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at 105 First Street.

AL-ANON: Meets at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m.
