Applause to City of Elkins workers for cleaning up the town after the MSFF ended. “The Street Department and the Sanitation Department … worked around the clock… Just did a tremendous job, making sure everything was picked up every night, every morning,” Elkins Operations Manager Michael Kesecker said during a special Elkins City Council meeting Thursday night. “I’ve had people come to me to tell me they walked through town on Monday and had no idea there was ever a parade.”
Boo, however, to all those who felt the need to litter in downtown Elkins during Forest Festival week, especially during Saturday’s Grand Feature Parade. Let’s have some more pride in our area’s appearance, and make life a little easier on the folks who have to clean up after the fun is over.
