Magnum & John: The idiots who run Buckhannon lack the common sense to look at Bridgeport and Clarksburg, or even Lewis County around the I79 interchange, to see what's attracting customers to those areas. They have a variety of restaurants, shops and other stores that carry what people want, unlike Buckhannon that has very little to offer shoppers. Unless you are a drunk, or eat pizza three meals a day, or happen to be passing through and need a motel room, there's nothing there. The town council has about as much vision as a blind person when it comes to drawing new business to the area. These people are a bunch of crotchety old gargoyles that couldn't care less about keeping business at home. And that pot belly pig Ron Pugh has the attitude of Lou Grant and the intelligence of Mrs. Piggy. He was a real addition to the collection of clowns at city hall. No wonder no one wants to locate their business in Buckhannon. I guess I'll continue buying off the internet.

I'm puzzled. What the heck does Buckhannon have that would give them such a status? main Street is lined with junk stores that offer nothing to tourist, and certainly nothing for the people who live there. You can't even buy a pair of Lee jeans in Buckhannon. Main Street has a collection of shops that come and go on a regular basis. One moves in, another moves out, and the cycle continues. There's nothing in Buckhannon of particular interest to most people, and the city council doesn't have any motivation to bring in new businesses that would keep local shoppers in Buckhannon. I'll be darned if I can understand it. I wonder how many times each one of the nitwits running the town voted from it.

Not going to be so 'cool' after city council raises police/fire fees and property taxes go up. It's where they're leading Buckhannon.

I have lived in Buckhannon most of my life and I can't see anything cool at all other than the weather in the past month or so. If it takes bars and pizza shops to make a place cool, well I guess we are cool. We have a corrupt city Police Dept along with a very corrupt county commission. If they want to see cool go to Elkins. Elkins has it all.
