Mike and Suzanne Ware of Collierville, Tenn., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Sara Christine, to Peter Kendrick Acker, son of Jim and Kay Acker of Harrisonburg, Va.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John William Ware of Huttonsville and the late Pauline Futral Ware and the late William Donelson and Margarete Ferguson Neal. She is a graduate of Collierville High School and a 2007 graduate of Auburn University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in secondary English education. She is employed as an 11th-grade English teacher and softball coach at Auburn High School.
Her twin sister, Katie Ware, will serve as maid of honor.

Her fiance is the grandson of Kendrick Brown Taylor of Clifton Forge, Va., and the late Thomas Herring Forrer Sr. and the late H. Sidney and Mildred Fletcher Acker. He is a graduate of Harrisonburg High School and is a 2005 graduate of The College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He is a research assistant at Auburn University where he is working toward his master's degree in wildlife sciences.
His father, Jim Acker, will serve as best man.
The couple will marry on Dec. 31 at the historic Sanctuary on the Square in Collierville, Tenn.
The couple will make their home in Auburn, Ala., after a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
