WVU student named MSFF royalty

Katie Danielle Clevenger of Thomas has been appointed as a princess in the 76th Mountain State Forest Festival by Director General Mike Karlen.

Clevenger is the daughter of David and Beth Clevenger of Thomas. She has one sister, Kimberly Clevenger, and is the granddaughter of Paula Cannon and Richard and Barbara Clevenger, all of Fairmont.

Clevenger is a 2012 graduate of Tucker County High School. She also took classes from Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College while in high school.

She attends West Virginia University and plans to pursue a degree in occupational therapy. While at WVU, she is an honor student, member of Gear-Up Honor Roll, student body vice president and a member of the National Honor Society. In high school, she was a member of the Spirit Club, Varsity Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was four-year member of basketball team and track team, was a cheerleader for three years and ran cross country for two years. She also volunteers for special events at Cortland Acres, where her mom is assistant administrator. Her hobbies include snow and water sports, and she also is a ski instructor at Canaan Valley Ski Resort. She is a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church
