Barden J. "Bobby" Vance, 83, of Seneca Rocks, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in Hospice Care in Elkins.
He was born Feb. 2, 1929, at Onego and was a son of the late Ralph and Gertie (Kisamore) Vance.
Mr. Vance retired from Miles Laboratory (Bayer) in Elkhart, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He served with the 11th Airbourne in the states and 187th Airbourne in Korea.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Rose Mary (Harper) Vance; two sons, Barden J. Vance Jr. of Goshen, Ind., and Michael W. Vance of Wakarusa, Ind.; one granddaughter, Britny Rose Vance; one great-granddaughter, Brinleigh Rose Anderson; one sister, Jean (Harold) Evans of Maysville; four brothers, Snoden Vance of Harman, Wayne Vance of Goshen, Ind., Harold Vance of Maysville and Brison Vance of Cherry Grove.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Military graveside service by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor guard will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jacob C. Harper Family Cemetery on Allegheny Mountain with Pastor Barbara Rexroad and Pastor Robert Baer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seneca Rocks United Methodist Church.
