Phyllis Elliott Sheets, 76, of Green Bank was surrounded by family and friends when she was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.
Mrs. Sheets was born April 24, 1936, in Durbin, the daughter of the late Josephine Beard Myers and Harvey C. Myers.
Phyllis was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Cass Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 124. She was a graduate of Green Bank High School and continued her education at WV Institute and Technology School, studying secretary science. She had worked with Nationwide Insurance for 17 years, Union Carbide in Charleston for five years, an accountant and bookkeeper for the City of Chesapeake, Va., and with the R & M Sporting Goods in South Carolina.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Elliott and her second husband, Jamie A. Sheets; and one sister, Barbara Myers Kalama.
Surviving are one son, James F. Elliott II; daughter, Lori J Warner and husband, Jamie, stepdaughter, Becky O'Brien Byrd; and stepson Robert Sheets, all of Green Bank; four grandchildren, Brooke Vandevander and fiance, Michael Smith, Derek Taylor and wife, Chasity, Morgan Bryant and husband, Corey and the late James "Tra" F. Elliott III: six stepgrandchildren; and four precious great-grandchildren, Dillon and Makayla Vandevander, and Mackenzie and Griffin Taylor.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale, with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Burial followed at the Arbovale Cemetery in Arbovale.
