POW/MIA?ceremony memorialized sacrifices

December 15, 2012

Editor:

The All Veterans Memorial Council thanks everyone that participated in the POW/MIA Ceremony held at the All Veterans Monument Sept. 21.

Thanks to all veterans organizations and their auxiliaries. Thanks to Larry Gour and Mary's Greenhouse for the beautiful seasonal flowers they provide year round. Thanks to the Inter-Mountain for helping us provide the information to the public concerning our ceremonies.

A special thanks goes out to the Highland Adventist School students and staff that came out to help us remember and honor our POW/MIAs by singing our National Anthem. As usual, it was most inspirational. Also thanks to the Davis & Elkins College students and staff that participated in honoring our POW/MIAs. Hopefully, our youth will continue to learn about and respect the sacrifices of America's more than 88,000 service members missing since World War II.

Thanks to all the citizens that came out to help us honor our POW/MIAs, with the continued interest of our youth and the example of others, we can ensure that the sacrifices of our POW/MIAs and their families will "never be forgotten."

We thank everyone that helped and participated. Our family members, employees at the Veteran's organizations and everyone behind the scenes that make it possible for us to prepare for and hold the ceremonies to honor and remember our veterans.

Thank you one and all. May God bless you, may God bless our POW/MIAs and their families and may God Bless America.

Jeff Wood

Chairman, All Veterans Memorial Council
