Harman rolls past Pirates

HARMAN - Alex Armentrout fired in 33 points to lead Harman to a 67-47 win over Paw Paw on Saturday.

Casey Elza added 10 points for the Panthers, who have won two straight games.

Josh Newlon led the Pirates with 17 points.

Harman also defeated Van 68-50 Friday night in West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament action in Summersville.

Armentrout had 23 points, Elza 19, Caleb Shifflet 12 and Mike Judy 10 for the Panthers, who will host the West Virginia School for the Deaf at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Brandon Elswick had 28 points for Van.

Greenbrier West 64

Tygarts Valley ... 44

SUMMERSVILLE - Colby Ennis fired in 21 points as Greenbrier West defeated Tygarts Valley 64-44 Saturday in West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament action.

Josh Martin added 18 points for the Cavaliers (11-4).

Brett Griffith hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 21 points for the Bulldogs. Adam Cassell and Zak Shreve added five rebounds each, while Brandon Pritt had two assists and Timmy Sparks two steals.

Tygarts Valley (13-4) will host Moorefield at 7 p.m. today for a Potomac Valley Conference contest.

Charleston Catholic 51, Moorefield 34

MOOREFIELD?- Class A, No. 1 Charleston Catholic used 19 points from Nick George to pull away from Moorefield 51-34 on Saturday.

David Godwin added 14 points for the Irish (15-2), who led 33-29 after three quarters but used a 7-of-8 showing from the free- throw line down the stretch to break open a four-point game with 4 minutes remaining.

Garret Keller fired in 21 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets (8-9).

Moorefield will visit Tygarts Valley at 7 p.m. today for a PVC contest.

Girls games

Liberty 51, Philip Barbour 42

CLARKSBURG - Heather Hickman tossed in 28 points as Liberty rallied for a 51-42 win over Philip Barbour Saturday in Big 10 Conference play.

Kaitlynn Neville led the Lady Colts (3-13) with 16 points.

Philip Barbour will host Big 10 foe North Marion at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for a makeup contest.

Tygarts Valley 61, Richwood 47

MILL?CREEK - Shanda Howell had 27 points as Tygarts Valley concluded West Virginia Hometown Invitational play with a 61-47 win over Richwood on Saturday.

Paige Pritt added 15 points and Emily Pingley 12 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 13-5.

Brenna Mazzella had 18 points for Richwood (7-13).

Tygarts Valley will travel to Union at 7:30 p.m. today.

Pocahontas County 61, Pendleton County 51

DUNMORE - Bobbie McNabb had a career-high 22 points as Pocahontas County earned a 61-51 win over Pendleton County Saturday in PVC play.

Heather Snead chipped in 17 points for the Lady Warriors (14-5). Olivia Workman added nine rebounds and eight assists.

Hillary Ord had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Danielle Gray 11 points for the Lady Wildcats (9-6).

Pocahontas County will visit Tygarts Valley Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. for a league game.

Pendleton County will travel to Moorefield Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in PVC play.
