WVWC track competes

KENT, Ohio - West Virginia Wesleyan's track team traveled to Kent State University Saturday participating in the annual KSU Tune-Up.

Wesleyan's women placed in five different individual events and collected two school records. It was the last indoor competition of the indoor season for the Bobcats.

Senior captian Ashli Knotts scored in three different events, placing second among collegians in the 800, racing to a school record time of 2:15.75. She also placed eighth in the mile (5:19.95) and sixth in the high jump (1.59).

Freshman Jordan Tate placed fifth in the high jump, also with a 1.59. Jaclyn Schiffour placed fourth in the unseeded pole vault section with a vault of 10', while Vicki Crise raced to a seventh place in the full-lap 300-hurdles in 48.18. Freshman Ali Crawford did not place in the 200, but set the WVWC indoor mark with a time of 26.24.

Wesleyan's track team will be back in action on March 1-2 in Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida Spring Break Open.
