Highland Adventist School opened in 1988 with just seven students and one teacher. Today, 25 years later, the school has 46 students in grades kindergarten through 12, a staff of nine teachers and a new school building on five acres north of Elkins.
The school invites all former students, families, staff members and community friends to join in celebrating the school's 25 years of serving the region with quality, innovative Christian education. The party will be from 1 to 5 p.m. April 28 at the school's location at 1 Old Leadsville Road in Elkins.
The afternoon's activities will include lunch from 1 to 2 p.m., a free concert by the musical group "Push to Start" from 2 to 3 p.m., performing an eclectic mix of bluegrass, folk and oldtime music, a drawing for a Kindle Fire, volleyball, basketball, croquet and lots of time for getting reacquainted. Attendees can bring lawn chairs and stay for the afternoon or just drop in and say hello.
