April 10, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

Last month, area library leaders traveled to Charleston to represent their respective libraries and meet with state officials.

Those making the trip included Belington Public Library Director Tamela Smith and her husband, Mike Smith; as well as Judy Buckner Larry, director of the Philippi Public Library; clerk Michelle Cook; and trustee Annette Fetty Santilli.

The delegation met with local state legislators during the recent 2013 Library Day at the Legislature and the West Virginia Library Association Legislative Reception. The library representatives spoke with the leaders about the need for increased public library funding and other issues regarding public libraries. They met with Delegate Mary Poling, D-Barbour; Sen. Bob Williams, D-Taylor; and Sen. Dave Sypolt, R-Preston.
