By John Wickline - Upshur Bureau Chief , The Inter-Mountain

A Buckhannon man trying to cash an allegedly forged check at a local bank was foiled by the person on whose account the check had been written, police said.

According to the complaint filed in Upshur County Magistrate Court, Todd Vincent Lee, 19, of 737 Childers Run Road, was attempting to cash a $498.75 check at Premier Bank in Buckhannon.

The account from which the check had been allegedly taken belonged to Joshua Ringer, and Ringer reportedly caught Lee attempting to cash the check, the complaint stated.

The complaint stated that Lee is alleged to have forged and uttered several other checks on Ringer's account.

Lee was arrested April 17, and he is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond. He is facing felony charges of forgery and uttering.
