Babe Ruth tourney starts Thursday

The Fuzz Jones Babe Ruth tournament will get underway Thursday at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.

The tournament will consist of 12 teams and they are the six teams from Elkins, three from Upshur County, two from Barbour County and one from Pendleton.

The six teams from Elkins are Elkins Fordland, Allegheny Insurance, Davis Trust Co., Broughton's Sports, Elkins Suzuki and Citizen's National Bank.

The three teams from Upshur County are Blue-High Pt. Construction, Green-Master Pest Management and Upshur County Gold, the two from Barbour County are the Patriots and Lizard Graphics and then Pendleton County.

There will be two games on Thursday and they will be Broughton's Sports vs Lizard Graphic's at 6 p.m. and Allegheny Insurance and Green-Master Pest Management at 8:10 p.m.

On Saturday and Saturday the games will start at noon and the last game will begin at 6:45 p.m.

The championship round will be on June 8 starting at 11 a.m. with the first semifinal game, and the second game will be at 1:30 p.m.

The third-place game will be at 4 p.m. and the title game will be at 6:30 p.m.

Allegheny Insurance defeated Citizens Bank of West Virginia in last year's title game of the tournament.
