June 7, 2013
By John Wickline Upshur Bureau Chief , The Inter-Mountain

An accident involving a logging truck blocked traffic at the intersection of U.S. 33 and West Virginia 20 for several hours Thursday morning in Buckhannon.

The truck reportedly was attempting to turn on to U.S. 33 when it overturned, spilling its load of logs on to the road. The truck was owned by Howes Trucking and was being operated by Chad Hawley, 39, of Elkins, according to the Buckhannon Police Department report.

Hawley was attempting to turn on to the U.S. 33 West on-ramp from Route 20 when the truck's tires left the roadway edge. The report stated that when Hawley attempted to correct the vehicle, the weight of the load caused the vehicle to roll over.

No citations were issued in the incident, which occurred around 8:19 a.m.
