ST. MARYS - Elkins' Austin Hamrick turned in a fifth-place finish at the Autumn Classic on Saturday.

Hamrick finished with a time of 18:31. Teammate Dalton Hamrick was 26th (20:29), followed by Will Gongola 74th (22:36) and Jacob Earle 119th (24:46).

"Austin ran a good race on one of the muddiest courses I have seen in my 19 years of coaching cross country," Elkins coach Shellie Burda said. "We did not field full teams because of some injuries that we didn't want to further aggravate, but we hope to be able to correct that next weekend.
