Murder-for-hire suspect enters innocent plea

The Buckhannon man whom police believe initiated a murder-for-hire plot in January 2012 pleaded innocent to the charges Friday at his arraignment in Upshur County Circuit Court.

Rodolfo "Chino" Villagomez Correa, 33, of 8 Riley Heights, is being held without bond in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on charges of murder and conspiracy.

He has been held there since his July 2012 arrest for his part in the death of 29-year-old Joshua Oberg. Correa is alleged to have paid another man $5,000 to kill Oberg after Correa learned that Oberg had become romantically involved with his wife.

Correa waived his right to a speedy trial, and Judge Kurt Hall ordered that jury selection for the trial will be held Dec. 10, and the trial will be held at some point in the two weeks following the jury's selection.

Two co-defendants, Jesse Heater of Buckhannon and Robert Eugene Siron III, are scheduled to stand trial on Dec. 16.

Both are facing murder charges, and both are being held in separate regional jails without bond.

The Rock Cave man who led authorities on an overnight manhunt while he was being investigated on sexual charges pleaded innocent to the charges contained in a 12-count indictment.

Margel Franklin Tenney, 57, of HC 32, Box 59, is charged with three felony counts of third-degree sexual assault, six felony counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, and three felony counts of incest. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

The charges allege that Tenney had sexual intercourse with two female victims under the age of 18 as far back as 2009 and that he inappropriately touched two females victims, both of whom were under 18, as far back as 2011.

Jury selection for his trial, as with the other individuals indicted by the grand jury, will be held Dec. 10. Trial dates were not specifically scheduled for any of those indicted, but Hall ordered that they be held during the two-week period beginning Dec. 11.

Alekzander Blake Long, 18, of 68 Boggess St., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of grand larceny. He remains free on a $5,000 cash/surety and a $20,000 personal recognizance bond.

Eric Matthew Robinson, 31, of 47 Morgan Addition Road, Buckhannon, stood silent when asked to plead to a felony charge of driving while having a license revoked for DUI-third or subsequent offense. Hall entered a not guilty plea for Robinson, who remains free on bond.

Michael Darrell Zinn, 31, P.O. Box 2643, Buckhannon, who was indicted on a felony charge of transferring stolen property, had his arraignment rescheduled for Sept. 16.

Willie Junior Debarr, 24, of Route 2, Box 259-D, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license. He remains free on a $25,000 cash/surety and a $45,000 personal recognizance bond.

Cody Lee Burr, 22, of 2211 Bablin Ingo Road, Crawford, pleaded innocent to felony charges of fleeing in a vehicle causing bodily injury and fleeing in a vehicle in a manner showing reckless indifference to the safety of others and misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of a crash with injuries and having no valid operator's license. He remains free on bond.

William Donald Tenney, 59, of 115 East Green St., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of domestic battery-third or subsequent offense. He remains free on bond.

Jacob Isaac Reed, 19, of Route 2, Box 81C, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to three felony charges of forgery and another five felony charges of uttering. Hall set bond at $30,000 cash or surety in the case.

Robert A. Erlich, 52, of 17 Henry St., Buckhannon, who was indicted on a felony charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault, had his arraignment continued until Sept. 16.

Pamela Jean Butcher, 44, of 70 Renny's Mobile Home Park, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to nine felony counts of embezzlement and another two misdemeanor counts of embezzlement. She remains free on bond.

William Randall Webb, 54, of 2110 Stony Run Road, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of breaking and entering, along with a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny. He remains free on bond.

Hank M. Heckman, 23, of 1742 Ivanhoe Road, Buckhannon, who was indicted on three felony counts of failing to provide notice of change in sex offender registry information, had his arraignment continued until Sept. 17.

Roy Lee Meadows, 31, whose address was listed as both 245 Freeman, French Creek, and 49 South Florida St., Buckhannon, in court records, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of driving while having a license revoked for DUI-third or subsequent offense. He remains free on bond.

Darren J. Bowman II, age and address not listed in court records, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of driving while having a license revoked for DUI-third or subsequent offense. He remains free on bond.

Ronald Delane Canfield, age and address not listed in court records, was indicted on two felony counts of failure to provide notice of change in sex offender registry information. His arraignment was continued until Sept. 16.

Nathaniel Ray Carroll, 22, of 174 Fayette St., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to felony charges of forgery and uttering and to felony charges of grand larceny and breaking and entering contained in separate indictment. He remains free on bond.

Chivano Jason Dean, 34, of 14 Allman Ave., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of fleeing in a vehicle while DUI, along with two misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence-second offense and a misdemeanor charge of driving while having a license revoked for DUI. He is being held in the regional jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash/surety and a $35,000 personal recognizance bond.

Douglas Keith Bowser, 31, of 91 Nora Bennett Road, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of fleeing in a vehicle while DUI, along with two misdemeanor counts of DUI-first offense and single misdemeanor charges of driving while having a license suspended for unpaid citations-third offense, improper registration and being in possession of a controlled substance. He remains free on bond.

Hall announced he would be recusing himself from hearing the case involving Scott Allen Sheets, 37, of 142 Main St., #45, Weston, who was indicted on felony charges of conspiracy and operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory. He was also named in a separate indictment on a felony charge of possession of precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing from an officer and shoplifting. Hall said he is a neighbor to Sheets' father. The arraignment will be scheduled following the appointment of a replacement judge.

Hall also announced he would be recusing himself from hearing the case involving Shauna L. Winnings, 30, of 180 Randolph St., Buckhannon, who was indicted on felony charges of conspiracy and operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory. Winnings is a co-defendant with Sheets.

Paul A. Bolton, 35, of Route 3, Box 162B, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to eight felony counts of possession of precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and single felony counts of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory and conspiracy. He remains free on bond.

Charles Jason Sandreth, age and address not listed in court documents, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of malicious wounding. He remains free on bond.

Jeffrey Allen Perry, 33, of 154 Randolph St., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to three felony counts of possession of precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and a single felony count of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory. He is being held in the regional jail in lieu of a $120,000 bond.

The bond was revoked Friday for Gene Patrick Herndon, 38, of 914 South Davis Ave., Apartment 3B, Elkins, who was indicted on two felony counts of conspiracy, a felony count of grand larceny, a misdemeanor count of conspiracy and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny, after he failed a drug test following his arraignment. Hall said he could not arraign someone he believed to be impaired, and he rescheduled the arraignment for Sept. 16.

Michael Wayne Johnson, 31, P.O. Box 1642, Elkins, pleaded innocent to two felony counts of conspiracy, a felony count of grand larceny, a misdemeanor count of conspiracy and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny. He remains free on bond.

Eileen M. Deshayes, 28, P.O. Box 1642, Elkins, pleaded innocent to felony charges of conspiracy and grand larceny, along with misdemeanor counts of conspiracy and petit larceny. She remains free on bond.

Kurry Allen Crowl, 19, of Route 4, Box 518, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of attempted petit larceny. He remains free on bond.

Matthew Corey Painter, 25, of 103 Valley Green, Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance. He remains free on bond.

Bradley James Bennett, 32, of 10 Fourth St., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm, along with misdemeanor charges of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a deadly weapon without a license, domestic battery-second offense and DUI-first offense. He remains free on bond.

James Arlan Washington, 48, of 226 Camden Ave., Buckhannon, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of domestic battery-third or subsequent offense. He is being held in the regional jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

Justin Moots, age and address not listed in court documents, pleaded innocent to a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance. Hall set bond in the matter at $5,000 cash or surety and $5,000 personal recognizance.
