Ms. Sandra S. "Sandy" (Harris) Fox, 69, a resident of Johnson Avenue, Belington, departed this life Sunday evening, Sept. 22, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 3, 1943, at Junior, daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Rosie Ellen (Moore) Harris.

She is survived by four children, DK Golden of Elkins, David E. Curtis of Gerrardstown, Robert D. Curtis and wife, Melanie ,of Warrington, Va., and Mary L. McCoy and husband, Michael, of Elkins; seven grandchildren, CJ Golden, Matthew J. Curtis, Samantha Sue Rose McCoy, Laura, Jessica and Phillip Stracener; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tayler, MaKayleigh and Camilla. She is also survived by one sister, Ida Griffith of Belington; and one brother. Also surviving is her loving companion of 25 years, John Reed of Belington; and her former husband, Earl J. "Pete" Curtis, father of her children, of Junior.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Curtis; one great-grandchild, Isabelle Mandana Golden; her former husband, Billy Joe Fox Sr.; and four brothers.

Mrs. Fox attended the schools of Barbour County and retired as manager of Duke's Steak House in Elkins with 25 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary Laurel Mountain Post 410 Veterans of Foreign Wars and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Baptist by faith.

At the request of the deceased, her remains were cremated. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, from Talbott Funeral Home in Belington. There will be a memorial service conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the funeral home with the Rev. Basil Hensley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent in her memory to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), P.O. Box 8215, 6 East Ruby, Morgantown, WV 26506.
