MILL CREEK - Tygarts Valley High School fell for the eighth time this season, losing to the Generals of Montcalm, 33-6, in an error-plagued game.

The story of this game was simple: The visitors were able to capitalize on their opponents mistakes and the Bulldogs were not.

The first half was just plain sloppy from both teams with numerous penalties and six turnovers with four of them being committed by Montcalm.

It was the first turnover from Tygarts Valley that was the most significant though.

The Bulldogs third series started at their 20-yard line after a touchback but on first down, a bad snap led to a lost fumble all the way back to the four. The Generals' Jason Grose punched in the score on the next play and the score was 7-0 after the PAT.

Tygarts Valley had a drive start at the Montcalm 36-yard line after a fumble by the Generals but it couldn't advance and turned the ball over on downs.

The beginning of the second half also began with a turnover.

Montcalm returned the kickoff to the 47-yard line, and then Grose fumbled on the first play. TV's Donnie Lambert recovered and the Bulldogs had good field position at midfield.

They advanced to the 26-yard line before quarterback Hunter Parks was sacked and Tygarts Valley turned it over on down again.

Montcalm then went on a seven-play, 76-yard drive. Generals' QB Dakota Lanter hit John Casto for 21 yards on a third and 17 to get the drive going and Grose ended on a 30-yard scamper for the score.

The backbreaker, though, was a 75-yard fumble return by Dakota Conley after Parks was sacked and lost the ball. That made the score 19-0.

Montcalm scored twice more. Once on a 9-yard run by Colton Egnor and the second with 46 seconds left in the game on a 10-yard run by Grose, his third touchdown of the game.

The Bulldogs' lone score came on a four-play, 62- yard drive with 6:56 left on the clock. Owen Arbogast hit Ronnie Nicholas on a 29-yard pass to set up a 25- yard touchdown run by Derrick Villarico.

Tygarts Valley (0-8) will travel to Hundred at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
