Gladys Marian Winn (Johnson) passed from this world on Oct. 23, 2013, leaving a legacy of love, faith and generosity for the many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that survive her.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1920, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Robert and Ada (Weigel) Johnson. She was the twin sister of Glenn Johnson (deceased).
She graduated from Colerain High School (class of 1938) and a member of White Oak Christian Church.
She was married to Emmett A. Winn on June 24, 1944, and together were blessed with seven children, (Jay Aaron, Marla Kay, Lois Marian, Nola Deane, Emmett Kent, Willard Mark and Lyle Robert).
Emmett & Gladys served in ministry at the First Church of Christ in Elkins from 1944 until August of 1960, when Emmett preceded her in death.
She remained in her Elkins home until the age of 82. Her faith in Christ was quiet, yet resilient, and her kindness and gentle nature endeared her to many.
A Celebration of her life will be held Nov. 2, 2013, at Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., services at noon and burial immediately following at Arlington Memorial Garden.
