Fred Arbogast

Mr. Fred Marvin Arbogast, 68, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, 2014, at his home. He had been in his usual health, and death was unexpected.

He was born July 2, 1945, at Elkins, a son of the late Lester Adam and Gladys Catherine (Butcher) Arbogast.

He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Deborah White of Belington; two sons, Chad F. Arbogast and wife, Chantelle, of Belington and, Philip Wiseman of Philippi; one daughter, Lisa D. Riggs and husband, Robert, of Dailey; three brothers, John Arbogast and wife, Karen, of Gilman, Bill Arbogast of Gilman and Robert "Bobby" Arbogast and wife, Judy, of Belington; two sisters, Mary Ryan and husband, Kenny, of Elkins and Catherine Coberly and husband, John, of Gilman. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jonathan Healey, Tyler Pennington, Justice Arbogast and Annaliese Wiseman; one great-granddaughter, Shila Jaden Paige Healey; several nieces and nephews; and a whole host of friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Dale Arbogast.

Mr. Arbogast attended the schools of Randolph County and was lastly employed at Teter Motors as an auto body repairman. He was a social member of Belington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 410 and the Musicians Union. Fred was an avid pool shooter and outdoorsman and loved watching deer. For those who knew him, he will be best remembered for his love of music and playing in his country music bands. Fred also was a very talented auto body repairman and was a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and again Sunday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny P. Williams II officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Elkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Talbott Funeral Home, P.O. Box 879, Belington, WV 26250, to assist with the final arrangements.
